Description
A great horned owl that escaped his enclosure during Hurricane Debby is missing, as rescuers continue to look for him after nearly 10 days.
The Raptor Center of Tampa Bay said their owl, which they have had since he was 6-weeks-old, is named Charlie. Staff said he is blind in one eye, doesn't know how to hunt, doesn't fly well and will not survive in the wild, according to a Facebook post.
Rescuers are asking for help in locating the 4-year-old owl that has big yellow eyes and has brown, white, black and orange feathers. The initial post said Charlie is in the Brandon area and the latest update said he is in the general area of Providence Lakes and Sterling Ranch Mariposa.
