Volunteers with the non-profit Boricuas de Corazon are packing and assembling supplies they will bring to Puerto Rico on Sunday. The non-profit said 10 local volunteers will travel there, bringing roughly 15,000 pounds of supplies. They rely on donations to pull together a range of items, focused on water, medical supplies and solar-powered electronics. Many of the volunteers are Puerto Rico natives who say their family and friends are anxious about the widespread outages. They said past storms like Hurricane Maria, coupled with the territory's unreliable power grid, have them bracing for a long period of recovery. Linda Perez, founder of Boricuas De Corazon said, "Transportation has been affected, the power outages will be extended, water won't be running properly, so people are not prepared. The magnitude of the emergency can be 30, 60, 90 days, almost a year sometimes."
