As we continue to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander month, we are putting a spotlight on a Filipino staple. Ube is a Filipino yam that has a vibrant purple color. It's been used in Filipino cooking for centuries and serves as a base for many traditional dishes.
We know that food is a great introduction to another culture. That's why Monin Syrup chose ube to be the "2024 Flavor of the Year." We spoke with them at their Clearwater headquarters, and they say that it's important for their audience to be exposed to global flavors.
