A man is dead after he reportedly fell off a float Tuesday afternoon in Madeira Beach. Authorities say the call came in at around 5:30 p.m. that the unidentified man never resurfaced the water behind a condo located in the area of Gulf Boulevard and 13th Street. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Marine Units & Helicopter Patrol, Pinellas County Fire Rescue, Eckerd College Search and Rescue, Florida Fish & Wildlife Marine Units and the U.S. Coast Guard all responded to the scene. Less than two hours into the investigation, search crews said they found the man's body and the float he was on. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says the investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
