Description
Days after allegedly stabbing his cousin in a "violent" attack before going on the run, a Polk County man was captured by law enforcement hundreds of miles and four states away, Davenport police said.
Douglas Kidd, 47, reportedly stabbed his cousin more than 15 times on April 11 and ran off before police arrived. The woman was able to get help from a neighbor before she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
As of Wednesday morning, police said the woman, whose name has not been released, is still hospitalized.
"It's only a miracle that this lady is alive," Police Chief Steve Parker said last week during a news conference.
Police issued an arrest warrant for Kidd, charging him with attempted murder for the "horrific event."
