Police are looking for a man wanted for the attempted murder of his cousin. Davenport police officers responded to a stabbing at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Highland Meadows neighborhood, according to a news release. Police said Douglas Kidd, 47, stabbed his cousin more than 15 times and ran off before officers arrived. The woman was able to get help from a neighbor before being transported to the hospital and, as of Friday morning, was in critical condition. Detectives are investigating what prompted Kidd to attack his relative. "It's only a miracle that this lady is alive," Police Chief Steve Parker said during a news conference. It's believed Kidd could be driving a black Chrysler 300 sedan with a handicapped Florida tag VI9WB. Parker said Kidd is known to hang out near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and has family in Georgia.
