Tampa firefighters were responding to the Veterans Expressway on Friday night after an RV went up in flames. It happened just after 10 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the Veterans Expressway between Hillsborough Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard. While several southbound lanes are open as of 10:30 p.m., drivers are asked to use alternate routes such as Hillsborough Avenue or westbound lanes to State Road 60 toward Clearwater. No serious injuries were reported. "Vehicle was an older model RV and the fire was deemed accidental," Tampa police wrote in an update.
