The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said the driver, identified as 26-year-old Leo Paul Bradley, refused to pay for a taxi ride in advance from Bradenton to Tampa. Deputies say Bradley then knocked the taxi driver to the ground and stole his SUV. Not long after, authorities caught up with Bradley and a chase began. During the chase, which was heading toward Anna Maria Island, deputies say Bradley hit one of their vehicles and at one point came close to hitting oncoming traffic. Bradley also allegedly hit two light poles before finally coming to a stop in a ditch. Bradley was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was arrested. Bradley is facing numerous charges related to what deputies say was a 20-mile, 17-minute chase.
