An 18-year-old bicyclist who died Monday following a crash in Tarpon Springs has been identified, police said Tuesday morning. Oni Mercado, 18 of Tarpon Springs, died after the bicycle he was riding was involved in a crash. The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 4 on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and North Avenue. A 66-year-old man was driving his car westbound when the 2002 Mercury 4-door sedan and Mercado's bike crashed. Mercado was not wearing a helmet, police said.
