A large waterspout that came ashore as a tornado just north of Pier 60 caused damage in a north Clearwater Beach neighborhood. Farther northeast, severe weather resulted in damage to parts of Dunedin. Evan Occhino shared several images early Thursday morning that showed a metal column that pierced through a car's windshield and debris thrown about. Reports sent to the National Weather Service indicate much of the damage happened in the area around Eldorado Avenue and Bay Esplanade. There are no confirmed reports of any injuries from these storms. Access is being restricted to the northern part of Clearwater Beach due to the damage from the tornado, police said. Officers are urging people to avoid the area.
