Tropical Storm Ophelia continues to strengthen off the North Carolina coastline, prompting a hurricane watch for some areas. The National Hurricane Center had previously labeled the disturbance as Potential Tropical Cyclone Sixteen. As of the latest advisory, Ophelia is holding on to tropical storm status now with 70-mph winds. At 74 mph, the tropical storm becomes a hurricane.
