Description
Seven people were taken to the hospital after a semi-truck carrying cars and an Amtrak train collided, Lakeland Fire officials said.
Authorities responded to the crash at around 7 p.m. near East Memorial Highway and East Lake Parker Drive. They said a semi-truck carrying cars was blocking the tracks when it was hit by Amtrak Train 92.
Additionally, one of the two 800-gallon tanks of fuel from the train started leaking after the crash. At this time, it's not clear how much fuel leaked.
