One person is dead after a shooting Saturday evening in the area of Fruitville Road and Cattleman Road, according to an update from the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. Around 8:08 p.m., deputies say they were called out to the area for a reported shooting. When they arrived at the scene, they found a man dead inside a pickup truck on Fruitville Road west of Interstate 75. Deputies spoke to a man and woman in a Sedan nearby who said the man in the pickup pointed a gun at them after an argument. The man in the Sedan got out of the passenger side and fired multiple rounds into the driver's side of the pickup truck striking the man, the sheriff's office said.
