A police officer and a 13-year-old are hurt after a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Lakeland, authorities say. At around 5:16 p.m., the police officer heard gunshots from a reported drive-by at Simpson Park, Lakeland Police Chief Sammy Taylor said during a news conference. A short pursuit then occurred between the officer and the car involved in the drive-by, but then three people got out of the car, including the teen, police say.
