Description
A radar estimated 20 inches of rain fell in parts of South Florida overnight Wednesday into Thursday, causing the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to temporarily close.
FLL authorities are expecting flight activities to remain closed until at least noon, according to a statement.
The departure area of the airport has reopened as of 2 a.m. as roadways are beginning to clear, which has allowed some airport travelers to be picked up. The arrival area of the airport still remains closed.
