A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a driver Thursday morning in Tampa, police said in a release. It happened just before 8 a.m. on E. Twiggs Street near the Publix Super Market. The person was rushed to Tampa General Hospital, where they are reportedly in critical condition. The agency said the person was walking a dog when they were hit. The dog was not hurt. The driver remained at the scene and is reportedly cooperating with authorities. Police said they are still trying to determine what caused the accident.
