Description
The body of a man believed to have drowned in August 2023 was pulled from Lake Washington on April 11.
Using a submersible remote operated vehicle, Seattle police recovered the body of 45-year-old Jose Antonio Argueta-Chavarria.
The body was turned over to the King County Medical Examiner, which confirmed the identity. His family is still waiting on an official cause of death.
"It was really hard when he went missing and it's really hard now that we've found him,” said Paula Garcia, his partner. “But we're so thankful that we've found him.”
Nearly two summers ago, Argueta-Chavarria went missing after he went out boating with friends on Lake Washington. A Seattle police officer was sent to the Atlantic City Boat Ramp Aug. 28, 2023, to check for a missing person.
