Description
"What we have to do is follow his example, continue to welcome our migrant brothers and sisters, and protect them as much as possible," says Salvadoran migrant Ileana Margarita Sorto, who works at a soup kitchen in Ciudad Juarez, the day after Pope Francis died aged 88.
The late pontiff, who made compassion for migrants and marginalized people the foundation of his papacy, visited the US-Mexico border city during his trip to Mexico in 2016.
Cristina Coronado, head of a migrant soup kitchen, praises Pope Francis' "huge legacy," considering him one of the men who "advocated most for migrants in the past 15 years." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
