Description
The parish of Gaza's Catholic Holy Family Church grieves Pope Francis, saying his death feels like "losing one of our own" as the late pontiff used to call them daily during the war. "Never before in history has such a prominent figure as the Pope maintained daily contact with a small parish under the fire of war," says the head of the church's emergency committee.
Since the early days of the war, members of the Catholic community have been sheltering at Holy Family Church compound in Gaza City, and some Orthodox Christians have also found refuge there. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
