The book by Alain Esquerre, spokesperson for the victims of Betharram, is now available in bookstores. In 'Le Silence de Betharram' (The Silence of Betharram), co-written with journalist Clemence Badault, Helene Perlant—daughter of French Prime Minister François Bayrou—recounts the beating she endured during a summer camp at the hands of a priest who also served at Igon, an institution for girls managed by the Bétharram congregation.
