Description
Members of Brazil's National Social Security Institute (INSS) and authorities provide further details on a corrupt scheme in which associations and unions allegedly embezzled money from pensioners by deducting part of their pensions.
While the government has stated that it is investigating the matter, Brazil's attorney general's office says it is setting up a "special group" tasked with holding "accountable the agents of the entities involved in this scheme."
The head of Brazil's National Social Security Institute (INSS), which administers pensions, was removed from his post over the scandal that comes as President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's administration grapples with plummeting approval ratings. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
