Just months after Pope Francis visited Catholic-majority East Timor, hundreds gather at Tasitolu, a large plain in the capital Dili, for a Mass to honour the pontiff's death, as his funeral begins on the other side of the world at the Vatican.
The Argentine, who died on April 21, visited the impoverished Catholic-majority country in September, the first pope to go to East Timor since it won independence from Indonesia in 2002 after decades of conflict. IMAGES
