At Nasser hospital in Gaza's Khan Yunis, five-year-old Osama al-Raqab lies severely underweight, his ribs protruding after months of malnutrition. "Osama is severely underweight and suffers from acute malnutrition due to the closure of the crossings and the lack of foodstuffs," says his mother, Mona, adding that "nothing is available, and even basic goods are sold at extremely high prices". Israel blocked the entry of all aid into the Palestinian territory of around 2.4 million people days before it resumed its aerial and ground offensive after the collapse of a two-month ceasefire with Hamas.
