One death and two cases of severe side effects have disrupted the chikungunya vaccination campaign launched by Overseas Minister Manuel Valls on April 7th. In response to these incidents, the vaccination programme is now suspended for Réunion residents over the age of 65, while it continues for others. On the island, local officials are speaking out against this situation.
