Description
In Africa, the Grey Crowned Crane, a symbol of longevity, has almost disappeared. Spearheading efforts to preserve the species in Rwanda is conservationist Olivier Nsengimana, who explains the birds are also a "sign of a healthy wetland," with human activity among the greatest threats to their survival. Thanks to his work protecting their natural habitat, the Rugezi swamp, the migratory bird has been making a comeback in recent years. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES N°43DK462
