Description
A few hundred people demonstrate in the capital Caracas to demand a "decent wage", a few hours after Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced an increase in pensions and bonuses for civil servants, deemed insufficient.
A situation of hardship denounced by many elders, such as 62-year-old lawyer Williams Morales, who "would never have thought that such a situation would arise in our country".
Maduro has increased pensions from $1.50 to $50 and welfare bonuses ahead of a controversial regional vote as the country fights chronic inflation -- but kept the $1.50 minimum monthly wage unchanged. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
