The Sistine Chapel, normally open to visitors of the Vatican Museums, will be off limits until the end of the Conclave, which begins Wednesday 7 May. The museum's collection has been enriched throughout history thanks to the presence of popes who have also lived inside these apartments, like Alexander VI, the first pope elected in a Conclave held inside the Sistine Chapel.
