Several hundred people gather in the Togolese capital Lomé to denounce changes to the constitution, the day after long-time leader Faure Gnassingbé was sworn in to a new office with no term limit. In a joint statement, two major opposition parties and civil society criticized "the monarchical drift, the instrumentalization of institutions and the systematic elimination of any democratic alternative" in the west African country.
