The centuries-old Tower of London opens an installation of nearly 30,000 ceramic popppies to commemorate the sacrifices made during World War II, as the UK marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the conflict in Europe. "It just brings home the sacrifices that people have made, not only on the front line, the soldiers and the airmen and the sailors going off to to war and who didn't come back, but actually the people who stayed behind, and the sacrifices that the families made," says Daniel Benson, one of the tower's yeoman warders.
