The EU pledges to disburse one billion euros ($1.1 billion) from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets to Ukrainian arms companies as part of its support to Kyiv as it fights off Moscow's invasion. "First is 1 billion that we are giving to Ukrainian defence industry because this is where the innovation is made and where we can help Ukraine the most," the EU's top diplomat Kaja Kallas says in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv.
