The European Union pledges one billion euros, generated from frozen Russian assets, to Ukrainian arms companies as part of the country's fight against Moscow's invasion. Speaking in Lviv, western Ukraine, EU top diplomat Kaja Kallas says "this funding will directly support Ukrainian defence companies and secure additional military aid over the coming months". EU foreign ministers gathered in Lviv in a symbolic show of support for Ukraine on the same day Russian commemorates the end of WWII. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
