At a chess club in Afghanistan's capital Kabul, players face off against one another over the board game. The sight could soon be a thing of the past as Taliban authorities have barred chess across the country until further notice over conserns it is a source of gambling.
Azizullah Gulzada owns a cafe in Kabul that has hosted informal chess competitions in recent years. He says he will respect the suspension but that it will hurt those that enjoy the game.
