Description
The trial for a semitruck driver charged in a fatal crash in Licking County involving a bus carrying Tuscarawas Valley band students is set to begin Monday.
Jacob McDonald was charged with a total of 26 counts, including six counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, after the crash on Interstate 70 near state Route 310 in November 2023.
McDonald chose to have a bench trial in the Licking County Common Pleas Court, meaning a judge will make the decision instead of a jury. The trial is expected to last three to four days.
McDonald was indicted and booked into the Licking County jail in July 2024, where he has been since the crash, on a $1 million bond.
