Description
An assistant coach for a Lakeland Girls Softball League team was having inappropriate sexual conversations where nude pictures were shared between him and a teen girl, according to Polk County Sheriff's deputies.
A relative of the teen told deputies on April 25 that Harold Tittle, 33, was exchanging nude pictures and videos with a girl when she was 16 and 17 years old.
Detectives learned that the Lakeland man got the pictures through Snapchat after asking the then 16-year-old for them, according to a news release. Detectives said Tittle also sent nude pictures of himself to the girl.
When a Polk County detective talked to Tittle, he told the detective he knew exactly why the detective was speaking with him as soon as Snapchat was mentioned.
Tittle confessed to the exchange of photos and said he used another device to take pictures of and record at least one video the girl sent. Detectives said they found those pictures on Tittle's phone.
Tittle also admitted he knew the girl was 16 and 17 during the time they exchanged pictures. He told detectives he used "bad judgement." He denied victimizing any other girls, including girls he had contact with on the softball team he coached called "Bat Intentions."
“Tittle’s actions are reprehensible. He groomed this girl to provide sexually explicit content. Though he has denied victimizing other girls, we ask anyone—parents or kids—to talk to us if they know of any inappropriate contact from Harold Tittle with any underage child or teen,” said Sheriff Grady Judd.
A spokesperson for the softball league said in a statement that Tittle was "immediately released from responsibilities within the league." The statement read that Tittle initially passed a background check prior to joining the league in the fall of 2024 with his daughter.
