Description
Hillsborough County deputies arrested 13 people to stop a drug operation by a gang in the Tampa Bay area after a five-month investigation.
"Operation No Good Secrets" was an initiative to dismantle the Latin Kings gang to "protect residents from the devastating consequences of their actions."
On April 16, deputies served four court-authorized search warrants at locations in Brandon, Tampa, Pasco County and at Secrets Gentlemen's Club, an adult entertainment venue in Town 'n' County where officials conducted multiple undercover narcotics transactions.
The 13 arrested include seven documented Latin Kings members, four associates and two others tied to the gang’s criminal network, officials said. Key suspects face charges ranging from racketeering and conspiracy to traffic in cocaine and fentanyl, to felon in possession of firearms and fraudulent identification crimes.
Sheriff Chad Chronister described the bust as a significant blow to the gang’s influence in the region.
"The Latin Kings organization is responsible for brutal violence, senseless deaths, and widespread destruction, tearing apart families, flooding communities with addiction, and leaving behind a legacy of fear, trauma and chaos," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. “They don’t just deal in drugs and weapons; they deal in devastation. Our communities deserve to feel safe, and I want gang members to know: We’re coming for you.”
Throughout the investigation, detectives seized a "significant amount" of drugs, firearms and other evidence.
