A hazmat team responded to an electric scooter fire in the Burton Ridge area of Vancouver on Monday. The fire started in the battery. Smoke produced by battery fires can be toxic, Vancouver Fire said. The agency reminds people to only use approved batteries and never leave electric scooters unattended when they're charging.
