Description
PPS Superintendent Dr. Kimberlee Armstrong recently released a $2 billion budget proposal that includes $40 million in cuts, including approximately 280 full-time positions across schools and central offices.
In an interview on KGW's "Straight Talk," Armstrong acknowledged the district is in an "alarming state" financially and addresses what could happen if a renewal bond were to be rejected.
Armstrong also outlines the district's plans to tackle declining enrollment, absenteeism among both students and teachers, and responds to federal policy changes under the Trump administration — from transgender athletes to DEI.
The newest episode airs Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 p.m., and Monday at 7 p.m. "Straight Talk" is also available as a podcast. You can also watch episodes whenever you want on the KGW+ TV app.
