An unmarked Dodge Charger that's become the topic of multiple Reddit threads is a legitimate Washington State Patrol (WSP) vehicle, the agency confirmed with KING 5. The red Charger, which has a "Please be patient, new driver" sticker on the back, is part of the state patrol's Aggressive Driving Apprehension Team, Trooper Rick Johnson told KING 5. "State law allows the WSP to use unmarked vehicles in this capacity and is a very effective tool to address aggressive driving," Johnson told KING 5, citing exceptions to the state law on publicly-owned vehicles.
