Fire fighters in Summit County have been busy this May. are used to a busy days, Summit Fire and EMS says while wildfire season is all year in Colorado, May isn’t usually a busy time but this year has been different. May has brought more fires than usual with crews responding to 3 wildfires in about two weeks, all of started by people. Firefighters say almost 90 percent of our fires are started by human activity which means they are preventable and that means we need to be very vigilant and diligent heading into the busy fire season.
