Local health officials are reminding the public to take measures to protect themselves against rabies after a rabid bat was found at a private residence in Boulder County. The bat tested positive for rabies after it came into contact with a dog on the outdoor deck of a home in the city of Boulder, according to a Friday release from Boulder County Public Health. The bat might have had contact with a second dog, the release said, but that information has not been confirmed.
