The City of Greeley officially terminated its lease with the Colorado Grit, a junior league hockey team in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), citing the team's failure to uphold the terms of its user agreement, mainly unpaid fees. The decision, announced by the city earlier this week, ends the short-lived presence of the Grit at the Greeley Ice Haus, a city-owned facility that had hosted the team since 2023. According to city officials, Greeley invested $500,000 to support the team’s operations at the arena.
