An employee at Tampa General Hospital was arrested Tuesday for possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Investigators with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said they uncovered "suspicious activity" on a social media platform and traced it back to 42-year-old David Scott Farber. Detectives performed a residential search warrant and recovered 79 images and videos of child sexual abuse material, according to the sheriff's office. Further investigation reportedly revealed that Farber had also taken inappropriate photos and videos of himself in operating rooms and patient care areas, which he then distributed to others through social media. Officials say Farber is now facing 79 felony counts related to the possession and distribution of child sex abuse material. HCSO said additional charges may be forthcoming, and the felony charges are subject to enhanced penalties due to the nature of the content, which "involved children under the age of five and depicted explicit abuse."
