Description
The NFL released the full regular season schedule on Wednesday night. For the fifth year, each team will play 17 games, totaling 272 regular-season contests.
For every team, six of their games will be against their three division opponents, once at home and once on the road. Four games will be against each team of an interconference division. Another four will be against each team of an intraconference division. Two more intraconference games are scheduled based on last year's standings. A final interconference game is also scheduled based on last year's standings.
Here's a further breakdown of the Buccaneers' 2025 regular season schedule.
Bucs season opener
The Bucs will open the season in Mercedes-Benz Stadium against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 7. This will be Tampa Bay's third time playing their week one game on the road in the last four seasons.
The Bucs have lost three of their previous four meetings with the Falcons, including both regular-season contests in 2024. Last year's game in Atlanta was tightly contested and ended with a Falcons' walk-off touchdown in overtime. However, something is working in Tampa Bay's favor. The Bucs have started 1-0 in each season under Head Coach Todd Bowles.
Bucs home opener
The first game inside Raymond James Stadium will be on Sunday, Sept. 21 against the New York Jets. The Bucs are 4-1 in their home openers in this decade. Their only loss was in 2022 to the Green Bay Packers.
You have to go back to 2015 to find the last time that Tampa Bay opened its home slate against an AFC team.
Primetime
The Bucs will play four games under the bright lights in 2025. The first will be in week two on Monday, Sept. 15, against the Texans in Houston. The Bucs last played the Texans in 2023, losing 39-37. The following two primetime games will be on the road against the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams, respectively.
The final primetime game will be against the Atlanta Falcons inside Raymond James Stadium on Thursday, Dec. 11.
Super Bowl champs come to town
On Sunday, Sept. 28, the defending Super Bowl champions come to Raymond James Stadium. The Philadelphia Eagles may have been the last team standing at the end of the 2024 season, but they have not had the best fortune against the Bucs. Tampa Bay has won six of the previous seven meetings, including the last two games at home. The Bucs beat the Eagles 33-16 in week four last season.
This year's game will be the only home game against a playoff team from the 2024 season.
