Description
May 21 on The Story: Just a few years ago, the idea of a passenger ferry connecting parts of the Portland metro along the Willamette River looked to be gathering steam — until the bottom suddenly fell out, causing the project to stall. Now, with new leadership in place at the city of Portland, supporters of Frog Ferry are making their pitch once more. The group has asked that the city of Portland and the state of Oregon commit $10 million each to the project so they can get a boat in the water. But right now, their pleas seem to be falling on deaf ears — even if the project does ostensibly offer a climate-friendly commuter option from Oregon City up to Vancouver.
