Portland high school students presented grants to nonprofits on Wednesday through the Schnitzer Cares student grantmaking program. Throughout the year, the students research and identify a cause they want to address before raising money and eventually handing it over to the organizations. Through the program, Portland-area students are giving more than $860,000 to nonprofits this year alone.
