The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago. Authorities said he walked into the museum after the shooting and was detained by security guards. "The Secretary-General strongly condemns the appalling killing," U.N. spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said during a briefing Thursday morning. "Nothing can justify such horrific acts." "The Secretary-General calls on the perpetrator to be brought to justice and extends his sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims, and to the government of Israel," he added.
