Description
Idalia is moving through the eastern Gulf and is expected to continue strengthening. It could be a major hurricane when it makes landfall Wednesday morning near Florida's Big Bend. High winds, heavy rain and storm surge are expected across much of Florida through Wednesday. The storm is expected to weaken as it continues over Georgia and South Carolina. After that, most models keep the remnants in the Atlantic.
Franklin has become the first major hurricane of the season. It will stay between the US East Coast and Bermuda.
Tropical Depression Eleven has formed in the Atlantic but should dissipate soon.
A wave coming off the coast of Africa has a medium chance for development in the coming days, but it is no threat to land.
