Tropical Storm Bret formed on Monday, and it is set to strengthen in the next few days over very warm waters in the Atlantic Ocean. The forecast calls for the storm to strengthen into a hurricane by Wednesday or Thursday. It should reach the Lesser Antilles and the Caribbean Sea at the end of the week. Models differ in exact placement of the storm at that time, but it looks like it could enter the northern Caribbean Sea. There it should weaken, because it will hit an upper trough of low pressure that will increase wind shear and even draw in some dry air.
