Tropical Depression Two formed on Thursday afternoon in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico. The system is expected to drift southward and could briefly become a tropical storm. By late Friday, it will likely get torn apart by wind shear and dry air as it moves southward toward Cuba. The newly formed depression is bringing rain to the Florida Peninsula, but impacts for coastal Louisiana and Mississippi are minimal. We are seeing a few small passing showers late Thursday, and it has been a bit breezy along the coast. That is about all we are expecting from this system. On Friday, our chance for rain will be quite slim as the system stays to our east and likely drifts even farther south away from our area. North winds could be a tad breezy at times up to 10-15 mph near the coast.
