Description
Inmates’ loved ones are frustrated about the ongoing issues at the Orleans Parish jail.
A wife of a current inmate, who wishes to remain anonymous, spoke to us over the phone about the conditions on Wednesday.
“When they got up this morning though, all of the water coming out of the faucets was either brown or very cloudy," she said.
A week ago, after WWL Chief Investigator David Hammer broke the story, the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed water has been in and out as they work to repair plumbing issues.
“Many of us found out from the media," Council Vice President Helena Moreno said at a council meeting on Tuesday.
Now, the woman we spoke with says her husband, who is being held on the fourth floor, reports that the water in his area is undrinkable.
It's unclear if that's the case for the entire jail.
